FRANCK CAMMAS<\/strong>\u00a0was elected\u00a0Sailor of the Decade<\/a>\u00a0by a jury assembled by the FFVoile \u2013 on which Tip & Shaft were members – that was chaired by Michel Desjoyeaux. In addition,\u00a0JEAN LE CAM<\/strong>\u00a0received the\u00a02020 solidarity prize<\/strong>\u00a0for his rescue of Kevin Escoffier in the Vend\u00e9e Globe.<\/p>\n

JEAN-BERNARD LE BOUCHER<\/strong>, director of the Macif sea activity, was elected\u00a0president of the Figaro B\u00e9n\u00e9teau class<\/a>\u00a0to replace Yvon Breton. A new board of 10 members was also elected.<\/p>\n

JAGANDA<\/strong>, a JPK 10.10 owned by Briton Richard Palmer, won\u00a0RORC yacht of the year<\/a>, notably it won the Transatlantic Race and the Caribbean 600 in the two-handed class.<\/p>\n

ALAIN BOSCHET<\/strong>\u00a0took over as\u00a0head<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0nke<\/strong>\u00a0Marine Electronics<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0nke Instrumentation<\/strong>, companies he bought from the former manager Jean-Claude Le Bleis, with the support of Unnexo, associated with Mer Invest and Breizh Invest PME.<\/p>\n

THE TRANSAT EN DOUBLE CONCARNEAU SAINT-BARTH\u00c9LEMY<\/strong>\u00a0(ex Transat AG2R) has a\u00a0start scheduled for May 9, and the NOR\u00a0is published<\/a>\u00a0(in French
\nand in English) ; registrations are already open.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

2020 SYDNEY-HOBART<\/strong> has been cancelled<\/a> because of COVID-19 concerns. A virtual race<\/a> will start Saturday on Virtual Regatta.<\/p>\n

SAINT-TROPEZ<\/strong>\u00a0will host from September 11 to 12, 2021\u00a0the 5th stage<\/a>\u00a0of the season 2 of\u00a0SailGP<\/strong>, which will be followed by another European stage a month later, in Cadiz (October 9-10). The finals will be run in April 2022 in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

OAKCLIFF SAILING<\/strong>\u00a0is committed to the World Match Racing Tour to organize from August 4 to 16, 2021\u00a0an Oakcliff Match Racing Academy<\/a>\u00a0in Oyster Bay, intended to train sailors in match racing.<\/p>\n

THE FASTNET RACE<\/strong>\u00a0will open\u00a0its registrations on January 12<\/a>; they must be done via the SailGate system.<\/p>\n

THE CLASS40<\/strong>\u00a0has\u00a0withdrawn the Globe40<\/a>\u00a0from its official calendar following the postponement by one year of this race around the world by stages, which suddenly clashed with the Route du Rhum 2022.<\/p>\n

THE FRENCH OLYMPIC WEEK OF HY\u00c8RES<\/strong>\u00a0will take place\u00a0from April 17 to 24 2021<\/strong>, it will include the 10 events of the Tokyo Games and the 4 new for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, including the mixed ocean race (which is not yet definitively validated).<\/p>\n
