EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND<\/strong>\u00a0has revealed\u00a0the composition<\/a>\u00a0of its core sailing team for the 37th America’s Cup, of which Peter Burling will remain in charge, accompanied by Blair Tuke, Andy Maloney, Nathan Outteridge, Glenn Ashby and Josh Junior.<\/p>\n

STUART BITHELL<\/strong>, British double Olympic medalist (gold in 49er in Rio, silver in 470 in Tokyo) and New Zealander\u00a0JASON SAUNDERS<\/strong>\u00a0have been recruited<\/a>\u00a0to support skipper S\u00e9bastien Schneiter in the\u00a0Swiss SailGP team<\/strong>, which will make its debut in Season 3. The rest of the crew is being recruited.<\/p>\n

S\u00c9BASTIEN DUCLOS<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0(former deputy director of the Banque Populaire team) has just been appointed executive director of\u00a0Spindrift racing<\/strong>, replacing Jean-S\u00e9bastien Ch\u00e9nier-Proteau, who left to join SailGP Canada. The team also unveiled\u00a0its program<\/a>\u00a0for the season working between the TF35 and record attempts, including the Jules Verne Trophy.<\/p>\n

JONAS GERCKENS<\/strong>, fourth in the last Transat Jacques Vabre in Class40 (with Beno\u00eet Hantzperg), was voted\u00a0Belgian sailor of the year 2021<\/strong>. The women’s title went to\u00a0EMMA PLASSCHAERT<\/strong>, 2021 Laser Radial world champion.<\/p>\n

11TH HOUR RACING TEAM<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0is looking for\u00a0a preparateur<\/a>\u00a0to join the team in Concarneau.\u00a0Must be comfortable speaking in French and English, have an active drivers license, and be capable of driving a rib. Start date as soon as possible and compensation to be in line with experience.<\/p>\n

THE\u00a0PAPREC ARK\u00c9A TEAM<\/strong>\u00a0is looking for\u00a0a versatile preparateur<\/a>\u00a0for its Class40 from May 2022; the position can then be made permanent on the Imoca of Yoann Richomme, based in Lorient.<\/p>\n

INANIX<\/strong>, a company specializing in the design of drones, is looking for\u00a0an experienced Java and\/or robotics developer<\/a>\u00a0<\/a>in the context of the development of a drone for water sports and offshore racing; permanent position to be filled as soon as possible, based in Rennes.<\/p>\n

NICOLAS ROUGER<\/strong>, who raced in the Mini class at the end of the 2000s has announced\u00a0his intention to compete on the next Vend\u00e9e Globe<\/a>\u00a0with a project called\u00a0Demain c’est loin<\/em>. He intends to finance this by selling every square meter of the sail of his Imoca, decorated by the artist Herv\u00e9 Di Rosa. He has set his sights on Time for Oceans,\u00a0the sale of which\u00a0“is imminent”,<\/em>\u00a0according to its owner St\u00e9phane Le Diraison, interviewed by Tip & Shaft.<\/p>\n

LEYTON<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0THE MAGENTA PROJECT<\/strong>\u00a0have announced\u00a0the renewal of their partnership<\/a>\u00a0for 2022, which allows sailors to discover the multihull aboard Sam Goodchild’s Ocean Fifty. Registration to participate in the six sessions scheduled between April and December is open until March 11.<\/p>\n

THE GRAND PRIX DU CROUESTY<\/strong>, which will take place this year from June 3 to 6,\u00a0will welcome<\/a>\u00a0the new class of IRC Vintage this year, a division reserved for boats whose model has been rated IOR (before 1994).<\/p>\n

EMIRATES TEAM NEW ZEALAND<\/strong>\u00a0has announced its intention\u00a0to tackle the wind powered land speed world record<\/a>, held since 2009 by Richard Jenkins on Greenbird (202.9 km\/h). A prototype, designed by a pool of architects including the French Guillaume Verdier, Romaric Neyhousser and Benjamin Muyl, is under construction, the attempt is planned for July\/August on an Australian salt lake with\u00a0Glenn Ashby<\/strong>\u00a0at the controls.<\/p>\n

THE CIC NORMANDY CHANNEL RACE<\/strong>\u00a0will beat\u00a0its participation record<\/a>\u00a0for the 2022 edition (departure on May 15 from Caen) since\u00a032 boats are registered<\/strong>\u00a0one month before the closing date for registration (compared to 27 in 2016 and 2018).<\/p>\n

B&G<\/strong>\u00a0announced\u00a0the renewal of its partnership<\/a>\u00a0with\u00a0Boris Hermann<\/strong>\u00a0until the next Vend\u00e9e Globe.<\/p>\n
