Skysat launches its online platform for professionals and private boat owner – Sponsored content

A subsidiary of the Mobius Marine group, which also includes Mobius Motion, designer of autopilot actuators, Skysat has been supporting offshore racing projects (skippers and racing teams) and cruising projects (boatbuilders and yacht owners) since 2002 through the integration of electrical and electronic systems.

To better serve its customers, the Carnac-based company launched a new online platform in May. In addition to offering its products for sale, the platform provides premium services to help customers select equipment, access technical documentation, and monitor their onboard systems over time. More than 5,000 products are available, ranging from electrical terminals and navigation processors to displays, batteries, telecommunications equipment, autopilots, and onboard systems.

Skysat takes a highly selective approach: every product offered comes from trusted brands and consists of references that have been thoroughly tested and mastered by its technical teams.

“We don’t want to be box movers. Our role is to offer equipment we know inside out, that we know how to integrate properly, and on which we can genuinely advise our customers,” explains Pol Conin, one of Skysat’s three partners.

The platform also gives every customer access to a comprehensive documentation hub. Within a single workspace, both private owners and professionals can find the list of equipment ordered and installed on their boat, serial numbers, warranty information, maintenance schedules, as well as user manuals, installation guides, manufacturers’ documentation, 3D files, technical dossiers, and electrical schematics produced by Skysat’s engineering department.

“The platform is particularly valuable for installers, boat preparation specialists, offshore racing teams, and shipyards, who often need to act quickly with reliable technical information,” says Pol Conin. As an added benefit, the maintenance schedule for Mobius actuators is also available through the platform.

Basile Bourgnon, skipper of the Ocean Fifty Edenred, perfectly illustrates the complementary strengths of the Mobius Motion–Skysat partnership. His trimaran is equipped with an actuator designed by Mobius Motion, while its electrical installation was carried out by Skysat. “Mobius and Skysat supply and install equipment whose performance and reliability we know and trust, which is essential for a boat like ours—especially during a Route du Rhum season.”

The 24-year-old sailor adds: “Another priority for my project is to work as much as possible with local companies. It makes after-sales support and rapid interventions much easier. They’re also present at race starts, which is very important for us. We have an electronics technician within the team who follows the boat throughout the season, but it’s always valuable to benefit from the installer’s expertise and perspective on the equipment.”

In an environment where the reliability of an autopilot or an NMEA network depends as much on proper integration as on the quality of the equipment itself, Skysat is extending online what it has been doing for more than twenty years: selecting the right equipment, integrating it correctly, documenting it thoroughly, and supporting it throughout its lifecycle. It is a practical way of using digital technology to address one of the most critical challenges at sea: the performance and reliability of onboard electrical and electronic systems.

This new milestone is also accompanied by a complete brand refresh, featuring a modernized visual identity that better reflects Skysat’s current positioning: technical expertise, carefully curated solutions, and a strong service-oriented approach.
