In November 2025, the victory of Jérémie Beyou and Morgan Lagravière in the Transat Café L’Or aboard the Imoca Charal was marked by a discreet innovation that nevertheless caught the eye of specialists: a spinnaker crafted from FA58, an  Aluula polyethylene fabric, a new material designed and manufactured in Canada that could well be a game-changer in the world of competitive sailing.

Cherbourg hosted from June 18 to 20 a brand-new event, the J Cup Europe, which also served as the very first European Championship for the J/99 class. This initiative, launched by sailboat builder J Composites, already the organizer of similar regattas at national level (J Cup France, England, Ireland, United States, Australia…), was born from a clear observation made by Frédéric Bouvier, the shipyard’s Sales Director: “Today, we are seeing a clear decline in participation in amateur regattas.” 

A subsidiary of the Mobius Marine group, which also includes Mobius Motion, designer of autopilot actuators, Skysat has been supporting offshore racing projects (skippers and racing teams) and cruising projects (boatbuilders and yacht owners) since 2002 through the integration of electrical and electronic systems.

Founded in 2019, Belasolution specialises in the design and manufacture of flexible products. It currently has 300 active customers, 50% of whom are based abroad, with a turnover of €750,000 in 2024 and a target of €1 million by the end of the year.

On 30 August, CIC and OC Sport Pen Duick announced the extension of their partnership for The Transat CIC, with the banking group, which had committed to being the title partner for the 2020 (ultimately cancelled due to Covid) and 2024 editions, also doing so for 2028 and 2032. “We were very satisfied with the last edition, which met our expectations both from a sporting and a popular point of view, with a particularly enthusiastic turnout at the start in Lorient,” explains Daniel Baal, President of CIC.

Launched in 2019, the non-governmental organization The SeaCleaners Swiss has chosen to enlist the support of two ambassadors from the world of sailing to raise awareness through sport, especially sailing.

Launched in 2006 in Plouguerneau (North Finistère) and specializing in coastal clothing for surfing and sailing, Hoalen, which today employs around fifty people and generates sales of around ten million euros – 80% in casual wear, 20% in technical clothing – launched its very first line of technical clothing dedicated to sailing at the end of 2024.

Co-founded in 2014 by Jérémy Bismuth and Edouard Gorioux, Click&Boat has grown rapidly. In just ten years, the platform, initially designed to connect boat owners with renters, has become the European leader in online boat rentals, offering over 55,000 boats (including 17,000 sailboats) in more than 60 countries.

The Arkea Ultim Challenge-Brest, the first single-handed round the world Ultim race organised by OC Sport Pen Duick and Ultim class, celebrated the first anniversary of its start on 7 January. IAn opprtunity to bring back a few memories for the skippers in the class. “We were setting off into a world of unknowns, whether on a sporting, personal or technical level,” recalls Anthony Marchand, who finished 4th on Actual Ultim 3.

Becoming a company with a mission in July 2020, MerConcept is organized into three departments: ocean racing project management – today the Ultim SVR Lazartigue, the Imoca Macif Santé Prévoyance and the Ocean Fifty UpWind by MerConcept -, maritime mobility, which focuses on decarbonization projects (foiling catamaran, cargo sailboat Vela…), and construction, which builds race boats complex composite boats and parts for several classes and series, without necessarily managing the project afterwards.

Founded in Genoa in November 2021 by Edoardo Bianchi – a “sailor above all else”, in the words of the man who competed in the Athens and Beijing Games in a Tornado – Sangiorgio Marine immediately made a name for itself with the launch of its first Class40, the Musa 40. A project conceived in collaboration with the sailor Ambrogio Beccaria and the naval architect Gianluca Guelfi, whom the founder met on the benches of Genoa University, where he was training to become naval engineer.
