La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec : the debrief

The 57th Solitaire du Figaro Paprec comes to a close on Saturday in Le Havre with the prize-giving ceremony, crowning Nicolas Lunven, only the seventh sailor in history to claim a third overall victory. To look back on this edition, Sailorz brought together three other three-time winners, Jérémie Beyou, Yann Eliès and Armel Le Cléac’h, along with the 2021 and 2025 champions, Pierre Quiroga and Alexis Loison.

La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec : stage 2 debrief

Long, mentally draining and intensely tactical, the second stage of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec was won by rookie sailor Paul Loiseau, just ahead of Nicolas Lunven. After a fierce battle, Alexis Thomas took third place. In the overall standings, Tom Dolan, 5th in Pornichet, retains the lead. Analysis of this “infernal stage” with three Figaro experts: skippers Yoann Richomme and Jules Ducelier, alongside weather router Dominic Vittet.

Who will win the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec ?

36 skippers will line up in Perros-Guirec on Sunday for the start of the 57th edition of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec, featuring three legs taking the fleet to Vigo, Pornichet and Le Havre. As before every major race, Sailorz asked a panel of experts to assess the contenders this year, including defending champion and 2025 runner-up Alexis Loison and Charlotte Yven, 2023 winner Corentin Horeau, Jules Delpech, with five Solitaire appearances under his belt, and Romen Richard, coach at the Centre Excellence Voile de La Rochelle.

Seven years after his eighth and most recent appearance, which ended in victory at the first-ever Figaro 3 edition, Yoann Richomme is back on the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec (which he also won in 2016), starting on 17 May from Perros-Guirec. Philippe Hartz: “It’s 50/50 to launch in Imoca this year”

After four years on the Figaro circuit, Philippe Hartz has set himself the goal of taking the start of the 2028 Vendée Globe. Back on the Figaro Beneteau circuit this year while waiting for the launch of his future Imoca in just over a year’s time, Loïs Berrehar stood out at the Solo Guy Cotten, the first race of the season, by winning the 240-mile offshore race on Thursday evening. Fifth overall in an event won by Paul Morvan, the Banque Populaire skipper (32) looks back on the race and discusses his Imoca project.

Solitaire du Figaro Paprec: The Debrief

The 56th edition of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec was won on Thursday night by Alexis Loison (Groupe Réel), who achieved a near grand slam, ahead of Charlotte Yven (Skipper Macif 2023) and Arno Biston (Article.1). Sailorz debriefs this Solitaire with two former winners, Pierre Quiroga (2021) and Corentin Horeau (2023), Loïs Berrehar (3rd in 2023 and 2nd in 2024), Lorient-based coach Tanguy Leglatin and router Dominic Vittet.

Solitaire du Figaro Paprec: Leg 1 debrief

The first stage of the Solitaire du Figaro Paprec ended on Thursday with Alexis Loison (Groupe Réel) taking the win ahead of the two Skipper Macif sailors, Hugo Dhallenne and Charlotte Yven. To debrief on these 638 miles between Rouen and Morlaix Bay, Tip & Shaft was joined by Erwan Tabarly, coach at the Finistère centre in Port-la-Forêt, router Dominic Vittet, Basile Bourgnon and Gaston Morvan, each of whom has a podium finish in the Solitaire to their credit (2nd in 2023 and 3rd in 2024 respectively).
